In Norse mythology, Baldur was son of Odin and Frigg, he is said to be the most beautiful of the Gods. God of truth and light, Baldur was also knowledgeable in healing herbs and Runes making him a favourite among the people of Midgard.
Loki in his jealousy, tricked Baldurs' blind brother Hod into shooting a branch of mistletoe which killed Baldur instantly.
