Wow, what a year 2019 has been - I'm sure many of you, like myself are glad it's over! The good news is that all of the drama, conflict, heartache and growth has been preparation for the new cycle that starts with the new year.
Of course this is a general summary for 2020, while we all will feel the energies of the year to some degree the same or similar, Astrology also depends on where the Planets lay in our individual Birth Charts so keep that in mind as you read ahead.
2020 - Key Words:
Balance, Structure, Ambition, Foundations & Practicality.
2020 is the Begining of a new decade and a new Astrological Era, while there is still and most likely will continue to be debate about when exactly the Age of Aquarius officially begins, personally, I feel that the last few years have been the gateway if you will, into the New Age; and 2020 is almost like stepping through the gates and into the Age of Aquarius.
We begin the year with Moon in Pisces on New Years Eve, as well as a Saturn-Pluto conjunction on the 12th January (last seen in 1982) This union starts the process of restructuring our lives and clearing out what is no longer needed.
January through to mid-year is mostly focused on discovering our true inner selves, our ambitions, removing the old and building the foundations for the next 20-30 years.
2019 was very much a Spiritual Awakening, where the Universal energies forced us to let go, make things happen and shift us back onto the right path. 2020 is a year for us to do all the hard work ourselves in order for things to happen.
In order for us to be who and where we want to be, we need to finish clearing out the old, finishing the challenges of the past decade and planning, organizing and laying the foundations for our future. Some may have already finished the "spring cleaning" throughout the last year, the sooner we let go of anything that's left, the sooner we can align ourselves with our new directions.
2020 is a year of building, personal responsibility, working together and structure.
There are some pretty exciting transits this year, with a lot of focus on Jupiter, Saturn & Pluto...
Jupiter is all about expansion, in 2020 Jupiter spends most of it's time in Capricorn bringing focus to ambition and success. Take care not to be too far-sighted and learn to take control & organize your life. When Jupiter transits through to Aquarius in December we shift our focus on helping others and humanity.
Saturn directs our attention to the Shadow self, many have noticed the shadow energies since Saturn entered Capricorn back in 2017. This year Saturn moves out of Capricorn, spending some time in Aquarius before turning direct and passing back through Capricorn before leaving the sign for another 29 years. Saturn is the shower of ways, it points us in the right direction, teaches us our life purpose and balances karma.
Pluto, ruler of the Underworld, regeneration and the life-death-rebrith cycle. Pluto also rules power, abuse and the unconscious mind. Pluto moves quite slowly, so is still in Capricorn this year. Pluto in Capricorn brings focus to transforming society, political pwers and bringing more equality into the World. Pluto retrogrades between April and October bringing intense power struggles, heightened emotions and huge change.
The biggest and most talked about Astrological event of 2020 is the conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn, ocurring on the Winter Solstice (December 21st) in the sign of Aquarius. This particular union marks the start of a new 20 year cycle in which we each will need to step up and take part in changing the World as we know it.
To sum it all up, 2020 is a year of releasing, restructuring, transforming and paving the way towards a new world. Yes the scary conjunction of Saturn & Pluto may shake things up on a World-wide scale, but it is very much needed in order to secure our future on this beautiful Planet.
Stay grounded, be ethical and work together and we can make this year a truly amazing one!
