This is the time of year when day and night are equal and we celebrate the coming dark of Winter, give thanks to the sunlight as it prepares to descend and prepare or store out harvest from the crops of the year.

Beltane, or Beltaine, Novembers' Eve (May Day in the Northern Hemisphere), Walpurgisnacht. as it is also known is almost upon us again.

Beltane is a Fire Festival, it is a Celebration of Fertility, a festival for lovers, a time for faery magic, celebration of the sexual union of the God and Goddess (wicca) and the fertility of the Earth.

Yule is celebrated on the Winter Solstice, here in the Southern Hemisphere this occurs on or around the 20th of June. 

Yule is a festival marking the rebirth of the Sun God from the Earth Goddess, a time of joy and celebration during the cold of Winter as the warmth starts to return.
